Rotating your vehicle's tires on a regular basis, such as every time you get an oil change, for example, is a good idea. Both safety-wise and in order to extend the lifetime of your tires.
I used to do the job myself, but since the place where I got new tires for my truck will rotate them every time I bring the truck in for an oil change, at no extra charge, I figured I'd save the time from doing it myself.
A word of caution, though; if your local quick oil-change shop offers this service, make sure they rotate your tires as recommended by the manufacturer, especially if your vehicle is equipped with directional tires. —Luis.
